One of the results of being without a church home for 6 months or so is that we had no place to share the tithe on our income. I suppose we could have just divided it out between all the churches we were visiting, but that just didn't feel right to us. Instead, it sat in a bank account. One day I was getting ready to write a check to cover one month's worth of therapy sessions for our little guy Ricky. It was all we could afford at the time, and if you recall, we had pledged to somehow help provide for him to get therapy for his autism, though at the time we weren't sure where the money would come from. The happy news is, we had a lightbulb moment and realized that we had enough money in the tithe account to cover Ricky's therapy for a year, and a little leftover to provide his orphanage with toys for Christmas. We were told he loves puzzles, as you can see from his picture, so we made sure that he got a few of those under the tree. What happiness it gives me to be able to be involved in a positive way in the life of this little boy who will always have a piece of my heart.
So.....Merry Christmas Ricky. May God bring you a year full of new discoveries, new abilities, health, and happiness. We love you!
