O.K. Enough of this depressing stuff. Let's catch up with the activities of the rest of the Kadey Bunch.

Kylie is preparing to take her Driver's License test (and we are preparing for a lot more time spent on our knees in prayer). She will be testing next week for the Running Start program at Lower Columbia College. Ideally, she wil be able to take two online classes through Three Rivers Christian for the next two years while taking the college classes so she can still graduate with the kids she's been with since preschool.

Kara is becoming interested in photography and is taking a class at school in the subject. She is having fun performing at various churches with the Eagle's Wings music/drama group at Three Rivers.

Kelsea is still enjoying school. She's trying to convince us that she wants to play the violin.

Kian is about to turn six. He's learning to read and write short words, and is so proud of himself. His speech is still a work in progress, and we are thinking of having him tested to rule out a learning disability. Being born so prematurely, it would be a miracle if he didn't. We don't know exactly what transpired following his birth....if he was without oxygen for any amount of time, etc. Even though he is doing well with letters, numbers, and basic Kindergarten stuff, my gut tells me that he is not able to understand things like he should. When I have discussions with him, it very often seems like I am talking to a three year old. His teacher also suggested that he get some therapy for his eyes....one eye regularly loses focus so that he is not always looking at something clearly....she thinks it may have an effect on him academically. He was seen by an eye specialist twice who didn't think there was a problem, but I always thought it was something that needed to be fixed....so we're looking into insurance coverage for that.

So that's what's happening with the kids. Roger's working hard and losing his assistant soon, so he'll be working even harder. We filed for bankruptcy last week. We're thinking we'll be able to stay in the house for at least 6 months.....maybe up to a year if the bank decides to do a short sale and let us stay until it's sold.
