KADEY FAMILY ATTEMPTS TO GROW A GARDEN

Though the Kadey family has absolutely no business trying to grow anything, they have taken on the project of trying to transform humble seeds into something edible. The Kadey's have a history of having killed off every green living thing that has entered their home in the last 19 years. When they moved into their current home they inherited a beautiful landscape previously cared for by people who knew what they were doing. Miraculously, many of the shrubs and trees have survived, but a tragic few have been strangled by ivy that was apparently allowed by the family to spread wherever it pleased.

It was prudent of the Kadey's to seek the help of gardener extraordinaire, Roger Sullivan, to prepare the garden plot and plant the vegetables. As you can see, some seedlings are starting to burst from the soil with a confidence that is perhaps a bit naive, but nevertheless admirable. They raise their heads high despite the volleyball that comes perilously close to flattening them, despite the 5 year old boy who digs for bugs in their midst, despite the deer who have access to them because the family has been too lazy to fence them out.

Time will tell if the garden will indeed supply an abundance of vegetables for the Kadey parents to put on the dinner plates of their children, who will gladly give up dessert if only they don't have to eat them.
